40 Days for Life - Week 4 - Public Witness Continues

October 16, 2009 - The 40 Days for Life fall campaign continues in Greater Cincinnati till November 1 in front of Planned Parenthood's abortion headquarters, 2314 Auburn Avenue in Cincinnati (across from Christ Hospital).

Those new to this prayer witness might want to join one of the regular candlelight prayer vigils conducted every Friday evening through October 30th, from 8-10pm.

Here is an update from Greater Cincinnati chairperson Mary Clark:

It gave me renewed enthusiasm to continue to promote 40 Days for Life after I listened to Shawn Carney, National Director of 40 Days for Life, speak at the recent Cincinnati Right to Life banquet. He spoke about what prompted him and a handful of other pro-lifers to begin in his city what has now become the national 40 Days for Life movement. He said that God has used the 40-day period throughout salvation history as a preparation period before transformations took place. Consider the transformation of Moses during 40 days on Mount Sinai. Of course, Jesus transformed the world following His 40 days in the dessert. I am also renewed whenever I reflect on the commitment of one of the churches you see listed each week in these updates.

Pastor Lonnie Smith and members of the Christian Life Center have come to pray for an end to abortion, for the mothers of those children and for the souls of those working in the abortion industry almost every Friday night of each 40 Days we have held in Cincinnati! But even before that, they started to pray every Friday evening at their church more than a year and a half ago for this cause. It's just that during 40 Days for Life campaigns they bring that prayer to the abortuary and become a witness to the outside community of the horrors of abortion. I pray that we all will ask God to transform us during 40 Days for Life to even better promote the sanctity and dignity of all human life. Please join us in public witness, if only for one hour.

You may join at any time for any length of time - co-workers, team mates, all church denominations. Easy parking is available at Holy Name Church a few blocks down from PP, 2448 Auburn Ave. Prayer materials for private prayer are also available.
