Sycamore Township Cancels Abortion Coverage - Employee Health Insurance Pro-Life

March 8, 2010 - Through the efforts of Sycamore Township board president, Tom Weidman, insurance coverage for elective abortion has been removed from the Anthem health insurance plan for township employees.

Anthem agreed to remove the benefit, and the township was also able to negotiate a better plan with an annual savings of $200,000 for 2010.

Mr. Weidman said, "I believe, and my fellow trustees concur, that it is morally wrong for taxpayer dollars to be used for funding abortions."
