Ohio State Representative, 30th District - Richard Hammersmith (R)

The 1973 Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, did more than just "legalize" abortion on demand; they prohibited virtually any federal, state or local laws from protecting pre-born children from death by abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy.

1. Do you support reversal of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton?

   Yes
   I have been active in the Right to Life movement for more than 20 years, picketing, raising money for pro-life candidates, supporting RTL educational activities all with the goal of reversing Roe v Wade.

2. Do you support state legislation to ban abortion-on-demand from fertilization to birth?

   Yes
   I have no exceptions. I am a 100 percent pro-life candidate. I would play a leadership role in promoting legislation here in Ohio.

3. Do you support legislation prohibiting use of tax money for organizations that promote or perform abortions?

   Yes
   I would absolutely work to prohibit this funding unlike former Rep Bill Seitz who voted to fund Planned Parenthood & who now supports my opponent.

4. Do you support medical standards, regulations, and inspection of abortion facilities?

   Yes
   Abortion facilities, particularly those run by Planned Parenthood, should be strictly monitored & be made to follow the laws of Ohio. PP facilities have obviously been very slipshod in following state law as regards to abortions for minors and parent notification.

5. Do you support legislation prohibiting the killing of human embryos by extracting their stem cells for scientific research?

   Yes

6. Do you support legislation prohibiting all cloning of human beings?

   Yes

7. Do you support legislation prohibiting assisted suicide in Ohio?

   Yes

8. Will you oppose any legislation or regulation (e.g., campaign finance reform) that has the purpose or effect of restricting, penalizing, chilling, discouraging or prohibiting citizens from contacting their elected representatives or urging others to do so on issues of importance to them?

   Yes
   Pro-life groups must have the ability to educate the public & support pro life candidates. These efforts have been producing great results in that the abortion rates have dropped dramatically.
